Author problem connecting to 2503

Need a hint to get going..

I am attempting to connect to a 2503 router...

Using 0, when I put in the suggested settings...all I get is a blank
screen..

I have a DB-9 from COMB to a RJ-45 cable which connects to the console
port... the light indicates all is well...but I can't get anything on the
screen...

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Are you using a rollover cable?

Hi

I have the same problem with one of my 2503 routers. It was working fine
until now, nothing is displayed in hyperterminal but if i connect the
console cable to the other 2503 everything works fine. The settings for
hyperterminal are correct.

Thanks

Hi

Just a wild thought. Since these are 2503s they have ISDN port.

Have heard of damage in the past caused by putting ISDN line connection
into CON or AUX by mistake (all are RJ45 pattern). ISDN lines carry
transient voltages of up to 100 - 150 V, which can fry the circuitry in
the wrong ports.
