If we ping 127.0.0.1 on a PC .......

| Hi
At my job we have the following problems:
If we ping 127.0.0.1 on a PC is it then NIC port we ping or is it the
software to the NIC we ping?
In other words is it the hardware we test or show it that the NIC drivers
and TCP/IP are installed correct?

| Since you're able to ping the "MS Loopback adapter", I'd say you're basically testing the workings of TCP/IP ..
You might want to look at the properties of you NIC and look at the link state. | |
