I bought a GBIC 1000Base-T module for my Catalyst 4003 switch. I plugged it in,
and it indicated that the switch detected it. I hooked it up to a server
computer via a Cat5e cable to a 3com Gigabit NIC, and it would not read at
1000Mbps. The indicator lights on the NIC card shows a max of 100Mbps (it is
set to auto).

The real problem is also that it will not ping the rest of the network (the
other 100mbps ports are fine) even though the green lights show up on both the
GBIC and the NIC card. I'm not sure what's going on, and I *really* need to get
this going as the server is supposed to be tranfering about 400-500Gigs of data
every night (not something i'd like to do at 100Mbps). Anyone know what I might
be able to try?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Brad
