I have been studying for the CCNA exam using the Sybex Study Guide SE
Exam 640-507. I know Cisco updated the exam, and I also seen Todd
Lammle's post stating that the newest rendition is now available. My
question is do I need it, or does this version of the study guide
encompass everything I need to know in order to pass the exam? Any
thoughts are appreciated.

I suppose the answer would be found in whether or not you maintain any hands-on knowledge of IOS and a typical router interface. The 507 book will contain all of the needed study material for the 607 exam, short of the simulator-type questions added to 607. At the very least, get ahold of Lammle's simulator or similar. At least according to Cisco, the non-simulator questions are still based off of the same core knowledge as 507. Good luck!

Nope....I passed the exam last week using the 507 book...
make sure you know the hands on stuff though!

cheers

Hello all

I am in the same predicament, I have the Sybex book 507 and the Todd Lammel
e trainer. Is this enough to cover the 607 and it's "hands on" elements??

regards

The book alone is not enough to pass the exam unless you have the hands-on
experience. Purchase either a real router or two or a router simulator.

use a real router! if you dont have access to a few real routers then you
will be another worthless paper ccna
