Hello all,
I am a student of the Cisco Certified Networking Associate
program. I am a student of a Cisco regional academy. But I heard that
i can take and pass the CCNA certification course without going
through a cisco academy?? If this is true then it would have turned
out very very cheaper for me. Ok since i have already completed 3
semesters in the CCNA course i cannot look back now. But what i want
to know is what are the benefits of formally going thru all the 4
semesters of the course and then taking the final CCNA exam rather
than directly taking the main CCNA exam.

Thanking you all in advance
Cheers!!!!1

Does the Cisco Academy at a city college cost significantly more than regular
classes? Because city college classes cost like $13 a unit.

You did not have to take the netcad course to Take the CCNA.
If your 're in the field and have access to routers and switches you
could study on your own to take the exam.( or a sims)
I am not in the field and didn't have any hands on experience so the
netcad was worth the $1200 including books.
If you have a good lab at your school -take the time go back through
the labs networks, passwords IPX, along with ISDN,fram relay semester
4 you will need it to take the CCNA
I had a good teacher ( 25 years in the field ) he taught us things
that are not in the books!

I have completed the Cisco Academy and passed the exam. The one thing that
your instructor should have told you is that there will be more work on your
part than just the class. Passing the CCNA takes a little more on your
part than just the class you are taking. Outside study material will
definitelty help. BEEN THERE DONE IT.
