Hi there.

Could anybody please advise whether switch configuration (Catalyst 1900 for
instance) and other switch IOS commands are on the CCNA exam. Has anybody
encountered any of these questions?

no , there is none of those simulation types, but you should prepare
definitely as there are many vlan and vtp questions and general switching
