Author ISDN question

I have been playing around with an ISDN simulator and a 2503 router. I
don't have a second BRI port router yet, so I've just been playing with the
one. I see from 'show isdn status' that the SPIDs are accepted and
everything looks good. This simulator allows you to dial the number of the
attached interface and have the B channels come up. My question
is...shouldn't I be able to ping the local BRI interface IP address? This
may be a silly question but I would like to know why or why not....

Thanks in advance....

You have layer 2 connectivity... your layer 2 device (Bri0) sees the ISDN
switch...

You do not have layer 3 connectivity to anything...
