Note that the Cisco site has had a major change/ update and the URLs in the
FAQ may be depreciated.

I have checked several which still work buit will check and update these as
soon as possible.

This particularly refers to section 16.2 which was a tutorial on the front
page of the old site.

Please note that I have been notified by nrf of some slightly(!) dodgy
material in sections 211.9.x (CCIE recertification).

Until I get around to revising this section, please do not take it as
absolutely correct - refer to Cisco for definite information.

emails from Cisco:-
===================
(12 November 2002)
>On November 12, 2002 Cisco announces its redesigned CCDA(r)
>certification track, which features the new CCDA exam # 640-861 and
>the new course, Designing for Cisco Internetwork Solutions (DESGN).

->The existing DCN course will retire on January 6, 2003, and the
->existing DCN exam #640-441 will retire on March 5, 2003.

>a redesigned CCDP track exam and course will be released around February
>2003. The CCDP related course, Designing Cisco Network Service
>Architectures (ARCH), builds upon the DESGN foundation, teaching designers
>how to architect network services and solutions using that infrastructure.
>While the DESGN course addresses mainly infrastructure and network service
>issues, the ARCH will address mainly network services and solutions.

What's New in DESGN

Because networks and network services are growing exponentially
complex, designing a network separately becomes impossible. Instead, the
network is divided into modules such as the enterprise edge, campus, and
service provider edge, with each module designed separately. Designers
must ensure the entire solution responds optimally to business and
technical needs, and that the network is highly available. A strategic
network solution requires content networking, storage application
networking, and voice applications. Successful network designs require
critical modern infrastructure services (such as wireless access) and
network services (such as security and management, quality of service, and
multicast).

>=> Changes to CCNP(R) Routing Exam, Free Chapters coming from Cisco Press!
>Cisco Systems has replaced the CCNP/CCDP(R) routing course Building
>Scalable Cisco Networks (BSCN) with Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks
>(BSCI). This course, already in existence as part of the CCIP(TM)
>certification, has a very similar coverage to its predecessor BSCN, with
>an additional section on the IS-IS protocol. The two Cisco Press titles
>originally created for BSCN preparation, Building Scalable Cisco Networks
>and CCNP Routing Exam Certification Guide, are excellent self-study tools
>for the new BSCI exam. Cisco Press will be providing supplemental chapters
>to these titles on IS-IS, posting them online for free download in
>mid-November. Visit ciscopress.com now for some immediate IS-IS
>preparation resources! Learn more about the changes to the CCNP exams at:

>US$250-$300 equivalent for the Foundation exam. The CCIE(R) exams will
>maintain a flat rate of US$300 equivalent. These changes do not affect the
>United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico because exam prices in these
>countries were changed in November 2001.

>-- Snip --<

>On October 1, you can access applicable frequently asked questions
