Hi Folks - I would like to study and pass the CCNA ?
Please share any thoughts on material to study.

I am a Computer Networking professional. I am curious on people who have
crossed this bridge.

Thanks
Ronnie

Hi,

Get only cisco press books. Get some routers together or if you cant afford
them, get free access at r1r2.com

What bridge are you talking about? Since you're a computer networking
professional you already crossed the bridge.

cheers,

Cisco Press books, and if you want a fair indication of how prepared you
are, the Boson practice tests are excellent IMO.
If you cant get access to routers, the Boson router simulator is fairly
good, but is no replacement for an actual router.

I used the 3rd Edition Sybex text and passed it with no problem on the
first try. If you are already working in computer networking, you
shouldn't have any trouble. Just pay attention to the basic router
commands being that you will get hit by a few simulation questions on
the exam.

For a few more ideas on study material, take a look at:

Good luck!

I agree with most of the other posts that you should consider Cisco Press
books. I especially recommend the CCNA Certification Guide. It comes with
a practice exam with the simulations made in Flash just like the real thing.
Another thing to keep in mind when answering the sim questions is that you
can also configure the workstation PCs that are connected to the network.
Don't assume because it may be a router config question that you only need
to work on the router(s). For example, if you see something like: "after
you configure the router in the 3rd location, you should ping from PC-A in
subnet A to PC-C in subnet C", then you'll likely have to right-click on the
the PCs to supply the TCP/IP config with the proper gateways, etc...
