Does anyone had experience with different courseware for
MCSE 2000? Does anyone had experience with ElementK
courseware? How good is this courseware compared to the
MOC?

Thanks,
Alex

I have taught a bunch on them. I found them a bit more basic then the MOCs,
but not bad. YOu don't get them same UMPPHHH to the students though when
you use the non-MS courseware.

I agree, and the ElementK courses tend to come with little or no trainer
support material (Slides etc)

I have searched out the non-MOC courseware. MOC is still the best when it
comes to one-week or less training courses - especially now that they have
Virtual PC stuff.

ElementK material has very little trainer support stuff - usually pretty
thin on PPT slides and labs are individual (not progressive) meaning they
start each lab as if you didn't do any of the rest (from installation).

I've been working on a revamp of the ALS courseware now called Microsoft
Official Academic Curriculum (MOAC). I'd certainly recommend that because we
poured a lot of resources into getting good instructor support materials.
ALS courseware is good and bad, depending on what title you get. I highly
recommend the Windows XP title, which was good. I won't go into the ones
that aren't so good - just be sure to review the books before you try to
teach from them. The old ALS was exactly the same as the Training Kits from
Microsoft Press. So, if you could get a copy of an ALS Windows XP student
guide, you could buy a bunch of Windows XP Training Kits for you students.
That would give you the slides and then the book has the labs inside. I have
taught that way before. That is not possible with MOAC because the courses
are redesigned for an academic market focusing on 8 to 16 week college
courses.
