I think there may be some confusion here about the legend used.

As you said, for MCSA, 210, 215 and 218 are core exams, and 216 is an
elective. The first table ("MCSA Requirements" table) lists 210, 215
and 218 as core and 216 as elective. The [] and () brackets used in
the MCSA table indicate the exams that can be counted towards MCDBA
and MCSE respectively.

The items in {} brackets (e.g. {C}) in the MCDBA and MCSE tables
indicate exams that are _also_ core MCSA exams. (The idea was to show
which exams, while being MCSA exams, can also be counted towards MCSE
and MCDBA.). 210, 215 and 218 are each marked with a {C}, indicating
that they are core exams for MCSA; 216, being an elective, is marked
with an {E} - just the way you said it should be.

The online version uses color coding and might be easier to read; we
used brackets in pdf vesion only for better printability on non-color
printers.

I understand that the tables can be confusing at first glance, as our
goal was not just to list all exams required to obtain a particular
certification (e.g. MCSA), but to also show how the exams you pass to
get your MCSA can be counted towards other certifications (MCSE and
MCDBA). We tried to make this complex matter as simple as possible.

Thanks!

p.s. Any comments on the usability of the tables or ideas how they can
be improved would be greatly appreciated!
