Author worth taking 70-228?

Is it worth taking 70-228 with SQL Server 2005 releasing next year?

Depends on your goals and timing. One thing you can count on is that
whatever exams you take for certification will expire eventually. In 2005,
they'll start talking about SQL Server 2010. Should you just wait for that
one instead of taking the test on SQL Server 2005 (or whatever they're going
to call it)?

If you're using SQL Server 2000 or if you need an exam to finish a
certification and have an interest in SQL Server, then take the test. My
suggestion is to not let test expirations or changing technology put you off
from taking a test. You'll only get further and further behind. Whether
your tests are expiring or not, I suggest taking from one to two tests every
year so that when major changes or O/S versions come out, you're not so far
behind.

even if they do release Yukon in the now pushed back time frame, you will
have to wait for exmas/courseware after the release and (now here is the
realy important part) maybe not everybody will be installing 2k5 as soon as
its released. When you go looking for a job you might what to have what teh
company _currently_ needs not what they are _going_ to need in a couple of
years.
