Hi Vasja,

I have just qualified as a MCDBA. I passed Oracle OCP 8 &
8i a little while ago.

There are areas where the exams overlap. These would
include SQL, triggers, normalisation, database design and
SQL mostly, to an extent security too. But if you have
done OCP you will find the SQL server exam (228 and 229)
easier. Oracle exams are more database intensive, MCDBA
just has 2 database related exams.

In all I found Microsoft very much harder to complete as
one of the electives is primary based on programming VB,
XML etc or the dreaded 70-216 (which has nothing to do
with databases!!!).
