Cathy,

It depends on how you sale yourself. There are a lot of
small shops that would bring you in based on your certs.
However, bigger shops or company's might want to see a
few years of experience. I'm a programmer analyst at
Intel and I can tell you that we are really needing
people who understand data. Being a DBA is more than
just doing backups and restores to databases. It is
being able to help the end user really drive to what they
need from a data perspective in order for them to make
informative decisions. I believe a DBA's scope is
changing to include more of a data analyst role. In
fact, data analsyt in some cases are more valued then
just a DBA that sites back and does restores and backups.
