| I'm trying to decide what to study next.
I currently have:
CNE3, CNE4, MCSE NT4 and I'll be an MCSE 2000 after my design exam sometime
next week. I passed the 70-228 SQL exam and want to know if anyone is like
me may pursue there MCDBA next.
I have ten years experience as network administrator.Besides implementing
and supporting 1000's of Servers, (Compaq Prolient, Dell PowerEgde,
Powervault, Exchange Mail, IIS, Clustering, NAS, SAN, Veritas and Arcserve,
I also supported NT SQL 6.5,7.0,2000 database servers for a five years now,
but the only programming skills I have is VB scripting and SQL. Some Oracle
and Middleware not much. I was a tier 3 level NT Server Operations technical
lead for a big company and I did have SQL DBA functions, but I have no
experience with VB.Net, ADO.Net, XML, COM, C + or Perl. My customers did all
that. Can I learn these skills at home ?
My company lost the downtown support agreement I was just laid off a few
months ago. The only MCSE jobs I see available for MCSE's that must have
experience with VB.NET, C, Perl and ASP.NET and SQL server.
Should I go a different route like Cisco or Citrix certs becasue I may be
biting more than I can chew ?
Respectively
Joe
