Author big difference w/ 70-028 & 70-228?

Is there that much of a difference in the SQL Server 7.0 tests
(70-028 & 70-029) vs. the 2000 tests?

And, In the real world, which is more prevalent and would it be
easy to "upgrade" your test from 7.0 to 2000 or is it really necessary?

I know, a lot of questions, but some help would be appreciated, thanks

JW.

I don't think there's that much difference. I think the SQL 2000 exams are a
little better. While they obviously add coverage for new features, I thought
they also dropped coverage of some obscure features that aren't or shouldn't
be used much in the real world. Personally, I'd go ahead and take both
versions. I did that when I first took SQL exams, though then it was with
version 7 and 6.5, which had much more significant differences. But the idea
is the same. The fact that you're presumably more informed about SQL Server
and exam details than your next job interviewer will be and you still had to
ask how similar the exams are suggests to me that your interviewer will very
likely have similar questions. Rather than leave him with unknowns, I think
it's simpler to pass both versions and leave him one less worry.

I find a pretty even mix of SQL 7 and 2000 among my customers, though my
company will begin actively urging customer to upgrade once Yukon is
released.
