| Hi everyone !
I took 70-228 for second time on 13 feb. Because I didn't study enough, for
the first time, I failed an exam... But this time... It was an easy exam. It
took me about 55 minutes to complet the exam...
For me, 70-228 is an elective for MCSE track. 6 exams done... 1 left
(70-219)
Thank's to everyone !

| Well done on your second attempt :-)
I have 228 on friday..... same as you, I have used it as an elective for
MCSE - so once I pass 228 I will be an MCSE.... then only one more exam
(229) to get my MCDBA :-)
Good luck with 219.

| Hi Hugo
What books, study guides, exam simulation did you use for preparing 70-228?
are there many question about replication, preformance tuning and
monitoring?- I found it's hard
to test preformance if I only study on 1 computer. what methods of study did
you use?
thanks heap
anthony

You can get by with one machine. If necessary you can install two or
more instance of sql server.
Inside SQL Server 2000 is a very good book, however all you need to
know to pass the exam is covered in the bol. Also, the msdn will have
some good technical information (including performance issues).
Remember performance issues can be tricky to solve, and can often have
nothing to do with sql server, and these will be covered on the exam.

| I also passed 70-228 on Feb 13 (First try, 70-229 is next
on my MCDBA track). I used the MOC (I paid for the
course), BOL, Examcram, and lots of questions of the day
from Examcram and transcender. I couldn't afford the
transcender exams and their free QOTD are not very good.
Its one question a day from any of their exams. If you are
lucky you get one questions a week and you have to wait
until the next day to get the answer. Examcram has a free
email and you can sign up for up to five test. Anticipate
your needs and save the questions well in advance.
Lots of replication and performance tuning on my exam.
Most of this is aimed at enterprise examples so you would
be hard pressed to set it up with more than one computer.
Concepts are clear enough without running them real time.

| It is this coming Friday :-)
Working 10-11 hour days and then studying makes for a very very tired me :-)
But at least I am working with computers and getting some hands on SQL
admin, but most of my time is taken up testing or writing.
I signed up for the 5 day course, but because I was the only one doing it
they were going to cancel it... but I managed to talk them into letting me
do 3 days 1-on-1 instead. That was last week, so hopefully I will be
prepared :-)
Any advice for Friday?
Cripes :-)
