Author MCDBA?

Dear All

I have received email from Microsoft advising that I have qualified for the
MCDBA, which I found surprising, as I thought I had one Elective to take for
it. I called Microsoft to check and they have confirmed that I am now
certified. I have passed the following exams. Do the old NT Electives count
as MCDBA electives, as I cannot find anything about this on the
certification details.

228 Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft® SQL ServerT 2000
Enterprise Edition
229 Designing and Implementing Databases with Microsoft® SQL ServerT 2000
Enterprise Edition
059 Internetworking with Microsoft® TCP/IP on Microsoft® Windows NTT 4.0
081 Implementing and Supporting Microsoft® Exchange Server 5.5
068 Implementing and Supporting NTT Server 4.0 in the Enterprise
067 Implementing and Supporting NTT Server 4.0
073 Implementing and Supporting NTT 4.0 Workstation
058 Networking Essentials

Surprised, but pleased :-)

U need 4 exams to qualify as an MCDBA, 70-067, 70-068, 70-228, & 70-229 in
old NT4 exams. Otherwise, 70-215, 70-216, 70-228 & 70-229 in W2K.

Yes, they still count, but I am not sure for how long.

That's excellent news. I'm in a similar situation to yourself and
thought I had to pass 70-216 in addition to 70-229 to get my MCDBA.

I'd already passed 70-228 and 70-215 but thought my old NT4 exams were
no longer any use to me. So now it looks like I'll only need to do
70-229 to get MCDBA certified.
