| Hi Guys:
I am working in IT for about 10 years. My database
experience is mainly with Access and SQL Server. Right
now I work as SQL Developer and SQL DBA at medium size
shop. I am just wondering whether I should get MCDBA
certification. I am not sure how beneficial this
certification going to be?
As I understand I have to pass four exams to get
certified. Do you have to take these exams together?
What is the span of time within which you have to pass
all four exams? How often do you have to recertify?
I would really appreciate if someone gives me some
insight into this.
Thanks a lot
Sohail

| Most of your questions can be answered at microsoft.com/mcp. Should you get
certified, absolutely! Not only will you probably learn things you might not
have encountered but it also looks good on a resume. The triple threat is
(1) Experience, (2) college degree and (3) Certifications.

| There are 4 exams.
They can be taken every month, week or year. You can take
each one whenever you want. If you don't want to
recertify, there is no problem. As I undestand, the tittle
is valid forever. The exams are valid for 5 years (aprox).
For example, SQL 2K exams begin in july 2001 and they will
be available until 2006 aprox.
If the new SQL comes (Yukon) you can update your tittle
(As I undestand you will pay less).
