I am sitting the 70-228 exam in next 18 hours. Any last advice?
I have studied the following...
- MS Press 70-228 Book
- Transcender 70-228 Exam
- SQL Server Book Online
Any more last advice before I go?

| I took it today.
If you took the 229 first it will be easy.
Also the test reminded me of the 215 but you probably know that.

| I passed the exam with confidence. Although I took about 1 hour to finish
the exam. There is no mark for my exam, just pass/fail grade. No more green
bar at the end!
The exam asked me more from SQL Server Book Online. Not from the MS Press
Book study guides (Now I know is useless). A few are from Transcender.
To pass the exam you should read quite a few topics on SQL Books Online. I
bet you've studied enough the material for the exam. In addition to your
study, I suggest the following...
- SQL Server Locking Architecture
- Back up and Restore Topics
- SQL Server Security Topics (Authentication(login), object and statement
security)
- Working out Affinity Mask
- File and Filegroup management
- Optimizing the SQL Server
- Understanding the output of the System Monitor counters
- Understand the network and client protocols
- Index creation, back up and restore
- Clustred indexes and non-culstered indexes
- Stored procedures and RECOMPILE option
Like Glenn D. Crosse said before in this thread, if you done 70-229 it is
much easier.
Another piece of advice is that PROMETRIC testing engine has now upgraded
and appear new bugs in the testing engine. I finished before the exam end
period so I clicked "End Exam" and my report was not coming out and it was
crash with run time error. And my report doesn't come out even if I click
"print". I have to wait up to the end of the exam period to able print out
my report successfully. I can't think what sort of programmers have coded
that testing engine.
Another problem is that the calculator they provide, cannot be switched to
"Scientific" view which allows you to convert decimal to binary numbers and
vise versa and so forth. So be prepared so you can work out binary to
decimal by hand :P You need to know it for the Affinity Mask question.
