| Hi ,
I have already given VC++ Distributed exam , which also is listed in
Elective list of MCDBA
Also given 70-229 ( Sql Server 2000 Design and Implementation ). I did both
for MCSD.
Now, I want to ask, will it cover my two papers for MCDBA ?? and more on I
have to give two more . That Administering and Networking one ?? Plz. let me
know if i am correct. Thanks

| You still need a server product (70-215 or .Net Server)and the 70-228
Administering, these are requirements as well as one of the programming
tests 70-029 or 70-229.
Then your C++ will be good for the elective. So you need 70-215 and 70-229
and you will be set.
Here is the link for MCDBA requirements.

| I think so. You need 70-228, and 70-215 or it's .NET counterpart.

| The core for the MCDBA are:
70-215 Installing, Configuring and Administering Windows 2000 Server
- or -
70-275 Installing, Configuring and Administering Windows .Net Server
70-028 Administering SQL Server 7.0
- or -
70-228 Installing, Configuring and Administering SQL Server 2000
Enterprise Edition
70-029 Designing Databases for SQL Server 7.0
- or -
70-229 Designing Database Solutions for SQL Server 2000 Enterprise
Edition
Your exam will count as the elective. Microsoft has me on a hook. I
started just for MCSE, and then they came out with 70-218 just as I
started, and introduced the MCSA. I now have 70-210, 70-215, and
70-218 done, and I am planning to do 70-228 for my MCSA elective, and
I will have my MCSE electives done as well, leaving me with 3 exams.
When I am done with that, I will only need to complete 70-229 to be an
MCDBA, and then I will also have credit towards MCSD... I think I am
going to do all of them, as I will be MCSA/MCSE/MCDBA by September
anyways, and then move on to Cisco stuff. I have a year and a half of
development skills in VB, Java, Perl, and PHP, so I think I can handle
it, that added with my 3 years experience in networking. Anyhow, my
point is that if you choose your electives wisely, you can get alot of
stuff out of the way.
