Hello There:

Since I am studying for my A+ I should know this but...

I have an Athlon xp 1400 cpu(See info below) that was been used with sd-ram
(pc133), and looking for motherboads for it, I noticed the ones that support
this cpu they use DDR memory, my question is: I have 512mb of pc2100
memory, would it work for this processor?

Is there any website where I could read more about memory in relation to
this specif processor?

Thank you for your help.

Regards,

Ma.

The following is what I read in the cpu:

A1400AMS3C

AYHJA 0131VPCW

Y6699231365

1999 ZMD

What is the FSB of the cpu?

if 200Mhz then PC1600
if 266Mhz then PC2100

hope that helps

yeah same here basically if you use a faster ddr than the fsb you are only
going to be as fast as the fsb can handle
like having a racing engine in your car while driving in a school zone . the
engine (ddr) can kick XXX but your speed is limited by the path it uses
(i.e. the FSB )
