Memorizing IRQs & Beep Code Errors the easy way

| It's been many years since I've been out of school and although I don't
recall the term used, often for long lists of items that required
memorization, we used to make up sentences that contained the words we were
trying to memorize.
For instance, in biology, we used King Phillip Came Over From Great Scotland
to remember Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, Species.
I'm wondering if something similar exists for memorizing IRQs and Beep Code

| Try standing in the office of a large company , with the managing director
waiting for you to fix their computer so they can get back to making large
amounts of money, the stress this causes will often help ..

The process is called a mnemonic.
Heres what I think of when I try to remember the IRQ's:
0 - looks like a clock face - System Clock
1 - First input device - Keyboard
2 - Interlaceing draws the screen twice - VGA
3 - Number between 2 and 4 - Com 2+4
4 - 3+1=4 - Com 1+3
5 - - Sound Card or second printer
6 - "six" and "disk" sound alike - Floppy Disk
7 - - Printer
8 - Looks like two clocks over each other - *Real* time clock
9 - - Redirect to 2
10 - ones and zeros across the network - NIC
11 - - avail
12 - 12 looks like /2 - ps/2
13 - Hated math class (unlucky) - Math co-processor
14 - - Primary HD controller
15 - - Secondary HD Controller
Sorry I couldn't remember some of them. If I remember most of them, I
can run process of elimination for the rest.
802:
802.1 - 1 looks like an I - Internetworking
802.2 - 2 in roman numerals II, which looks like ll - LLC Logic Link
Control
802.3 - 3 look like a flipped E - Ethernet
802.4 - four wheels on the bus (go round and round) - Token Bus
802.5 - 5 golden rings! - Token Ring
802.6 - 666 evil...cities are EVIL! - MAN Metropolitan Area Network
802.7 - 7 is the number of God and having broadband to my house would be
heavenly - broadband
802.8 - Fiber need two cables to communicate one TX, one RX - Fiber
802.9 - 9 looks like a phone handset - Voice/Data
802.10 - ones and zeros, yes and no, yes you can come in, no you can't -
security
802.11 - 11 looks like two antenae - Wireless

| www.memorymentor.com has a forum with sections where u can ask a question about how to memorise a certain topic. Its only new and I figured it could help you with what u are wanting to memorise.
The site is completely free so feel free to look around and ask Q's if u like.
