Memorising CPU specs.

| Hi, I'm studying for my A+ at the moment and am using the All in one A+
certification by Mike Myers.
I've read the book once, have got a reasonable grip on the material and
passing the tests with about 80% but am now working through the book again
taking notes, to try and reinforce the details.
However, i've got a question about speciality CPU's Xeons, Opterons &
Itaniums. Should i bother memorising their specs ie cache, multiplier, bus
speed, package type etc?
I've worked on the chips up to P4 and Athlon XP but i've not seen a question
anywhere about the speciality stuff. Should i bother or would my time be
better spent elsewhere?
Yours Mark

| There is no good answer to this; in terms of the "real world",
definitely not, but in terms of the exam, you might get a question or
two on those subjects.

| Having just passed this exam, i would say so. Why they use those questions ?
dont know, but they are on the exam.

| Don't go crazy. Know the slots and sockets for each but there is too much
to memorize and there are only a few questions on FSB speed and CPU speeds.
Most of the test is troubleshooting anyway.
Good luck.

| Mark-
Always use the end of chapter questions as a guide as to what's on the exam.
