UltimateBootDisk error

| I am using UBD to try and diagnose a machine. It is a dual boot win98 and
linux. I'm not interested in the linux partition, and once I get the machine
healthy I'll probably want to get rid of the dual boot and the linux
partion.
I cant get into Windows as I'm faced with what appears to be a virus - a
screen with 'cartoon' character that says 'welcome to hell' and then out of
there to a jumble of errors. So i decided to use UBD to boot and see if I
can assess what's up - I want to use the antivirus function and when
prompted, I insert the ubd av disk and it returns an error and cant
proceed - "sign.def not found" - since there is no email to UBD, can anyone
here point the way?

The above is a DOS antivirus try extracting it and putting it on a bootable
CD and running it.
It usually works for me.

| Just use the linux. Problem solved.
Is there data on the disk you need. Why not reinstall windows? Stick the
drive in another machineand suck the data, flatten and reinstall.
