Can I sell telephone tech support to my customers?
|
|
|
| Hey all,
I started a business earlier this year designing, upgrading and building computers and networks. The
most annoying thing about this business is that most people do not know anything about computers.
They don't need real support, they need simple things like how to save attachments from emails.
Other times, they add programs or hardware and they get freeze ups, blue screens, etc. That is not
covered when I sell a computer. When I sell or upgrade a PC, I cover my workmanship and the parts
are covered under their own warranties. I never cover software problems (that they install) or
viruses they get using Kazaa.
Is there a tech support company I can add to the cost of a computer to offer my customers, sort of
like an extended warranty? They must be out there. Maybe for $49.95, there is a company out there
that will give 6 months or a year of phone support.
I am an MCP and A+ Certified.

Take a look here
www.waca.com
One of the small distributors in my area sells a warranty / tech support
package from them. I haven't had any experience with them, but I know that
if you call for tech support they answer the phone as if they represent your
business.
