It all depends on what your goals are. Do you just want to be a computer technician, or, a database administrator?

I, myself, am currently attending school in I.T. My goal is to acheive my MCDBA.

For what it's worth, this is the curriculum I'm doing: A+, network+, mcsa, ccna, security+, MCDBA.

Hi J.R.,

Do you already have a job in IT? If not, that's probably the place
to go next. You don't want to get too many certs before breaking into
IT because they're not going to make much difference for you (in fact,
many employers don't like to see a bunch of certs from entry-level
candidates), so it's going to be almost impossible to get any ROI out
of them. Perhaps add an MCP or Linux+ based on the jobs in your local
area, but I wouldn't do much more than that -- try to start now with
just your A+.

Sure, you're going to be starting in computer repair or tech support,
but with IT, it's rare to start anywhere but the bottom -- you need
that experience. If you can't land anything right now, spend your time
volunteering or doing something else for experience until you get that
that first job.

Once you have that first job (or if you already do have it), then its
probably a better time to add one or two, but first see what
opportunities you have for moving up and what certifications might
correspond. Your employer might also consider picking up all or part
of your training costs.

Hope that helps some,

-- Becky
