| I've been a self taught computer person for awhile now. I decided it was
time to get A+ certified. I allocated myself 6 weeks of study time before
testing. I picked up Mike's book and I am learning that I didn't know
everything that I thought I knew. It seems to be a great book, very
detailed. I have 3 weeks left and I am in the process of rereading over
the book. My only complaint at all would be the adaptive testing that comes
with the book. The questions come from the end of chapter quizzes. I have
already answered these and seen the answers. It doesn't take much to
memorize these, which really skews the adaptive results given. So, what are
the best online sources for free practice testing? Hopefully something that
closely resembles the actual testing style.

| I recommend http://www.freecomptia.com/
The questions on there aren't in the adaptive format (you take between 20
and 30 on the real test), but the content of the questions seems insanely
accurate.

Freecomptia is considered by most to be the best free practice tests.
http://www.freecomptia.com/
Don't go straight to them. Study more, and wait until you feel sure you are
ready for the real test. Then take the freecomptia tests as a reality check.
Otherwise, you'll just be studying to the test, instead of for the test. And
you won't have much depth to your knowledge. In that case, in the end you'd
be the one to suffer, when you don't know what you need to know out in the
real world.
Also, for a much briefer read, you might consider picking up Mike's Passport
A+ Certification guide. It makes a good companion to the All In One.

Thanks for the link and the advice to the both of you. I think that will be
the best approach to take. I was debating on getting the passport book
already. Now with the recommendation I think I will order it.

| I think the reason the questions on the disk are the same as the end of the
chapters is because they are just putting them in a different format so
people can get used to using a test engine. Mike Meyers actually sells a
very good set of A+ questions as something seperate from the AIO book. For
more question/study sources try techexams.net - a great resource!

| If I click on any link on the freecomptia site I get a "runtime error, do
you wish to debug" message and can't get any further whether I click yes or
no. This site worked OK for me before, anyone know what the problem is?

I'm assuming that you are using IE so that is what these instructions are
based on. Go to tools, Internet Options and Advanced and put a check mark
in Disable Script Debugging. That ought to help. The only people that need
that are web page designers that run scripts.
