| Hello,
I was working with a pc that needed to be changed back to 256 colors instead of
16 bit. When I did this, the pc of course needs to reboot to allow the changes
to take effect. However, upon rebooting, it still stays at 16 Bit. Does
anyone know why or what i can do to get the display to change to 256? One
friend mentioned manually rebooting, I tried this too and it went right back to
16 Bit, thanks.

If it is something that can be done in Safe Mode, try that. Otherwise
the registry may require editing. Do not edit the registry if you are
not completely comfortable with it, because you could upset the entire
system. Read a lot about it before ever trying, or practice on a test
system first. The string to be edited is BitsPerPixel, I think, which
will be 16, and has to be changed to 8.

| I use this program to change my color and screen size on the fly. You don't
have to restart your computer. Hope this helps.

| Really shouldn't require any special effort, but try lowering the resolution
first, reboot then lower to 256 colors.

| When the PC boots up, does it present the Client for Microsoft Networks
login or Windows login or any kind of login besides going directly into
Windows?

| Yes, it presents the Micrososft client log in.
