| Hey guys,
I'm wondering if you heard of anything like this. Recently on my task bar,
my start up programs have been disapearing. Things like my Anti Virus and
AIM, Systray and a few others i had starting up don't start up anymore.
I've checked my settings in Msconfig.exe, under the start up tab, and those
programs are still checked off, yet they don't start. Any idea what's
going on? I'm using Win98, have a 333mhz celeron with 192mb ram (this was
bought in 99, incase you want to know how old everything is). There is
nothing written into Config.sys, Autoexec.bat that's out of the ordinary.
Hope anyone could help me out. Thanks!

When do the programs disappear? Are they all there after a fresh system
boot then go away randomly as you work or do they not start at all? If
you do ctrl-alt-del do any of the programs that have disappeared still
show up there? I would play around with the start-up programs in
msconfig. You might have one that's preventing the others from starting.
Also, do a full virus scan and a spyware check.
Do you remember when the problem started? Could it be that you made a
change or loaded something that is causing it? Good luck.

| I suggest a reinstall of your antivirus software and an update of the virus
definitions.
