Discrepancy between Learnkey A+ and MSPress A+

| Hello all,
Mike Meyer's has video-learning program by LearnKey. In it he shows a
graphic that he says to memorize. It lists something along the
following:
LPT1 I/O port = 278h
MSPress A+ 3rd Edition states:
LPT1 I/O port = 378h
Obviously someone is wrong.
I had already committed to memory LPT1 to I/O 378h.....
Please let me know which is correct-
Heiko.

| Heiko:
As mentioned earlier by RussS, the correct I/O address are:
LPT1 = 0378-037F
LPT2 = 0278-027F
I found these in my Mueller's Upgrading & Repairing PCs.
It looks like there was a typo in the Learn Key graph: either
it should have read LPT2 or 378.
The point is, I never expect any work as technical as the books
we are using to be completely accurate. When I find a
discrepancy between two sources, I look to a third, and maybe
more.
This forum is certainly great to tap the ideas of others, but it
shouldn't exclude the process of RTFM.

Thanks Russ for your help.
"JimBo", I realize only using two sources is not very impressive but
I don't have the funds to purchase anything further. Also, I don't
really have the time to dedicate to "web-surfing". Russ was friendly
enough to offer his short/simple comment.
Thanks for your insight,
Heiko

| Ur welcome Heiko
It is nice to see a question about an inaccuracy in proper training material and not over a glaring mistake in a dump :-) |
