Your other option is help desk.

The Best Buy PC Tech position is basically a sales position. I should
know: I worked there 2 years as a PC Tech and my friend still works
there as a tech manager. They really dispositioned the tech work to
their service centers back in mid-2000 when I left. Also, you do not
need to be A+ certified to be a PC Tech at Best Buy.
CompUSA, AFAIK, is a true PC Tech position that requires A+
certification. I have no idea what sales involvement the techs have
there, although it appears from my shopping there that they have a
separate front desk clerk that takes all the cash and they just do tech
work handed them (kind of the way Best Buy should be doing it).
For the "uhh what else" part: contracting, entry level PC tech at any
business, et. al. Right now I work in a hospital as a PC Analyst
making decent money.
