Athlon & K7 the same?
|
|
|
| Did A+ today but was confused by the question what CPU fits Slot A. The
answer is of course Athlon, I have one myself, but one of the other choices
was K7. I have always believed that a K7 IS an Athlon. Am I right?

| I dont think so.. Im not positive tho.. I think the K7 is a PGA chip..
Athlon uses the slot A for certain. so if there only one option then
Athlon=SlotA

The first Athlon was a K7.
Both Slot A.
I don't know what they were thinking on the test.
Did the question want two answers?

| K7's are Athlons, Slot A Athlons, Socket A Athlons are not K7.
Was it a multiple answer question? Athlons don't all fit in Slot A, if it
was a single answer question K7 would have been correct. If it was a "choose
two" then both were likely correct.
