Intrusting. This means, I think, that I can run antivirus on Windows XP
machines without them having to run Windows.

If you read the page:

"...NTFS read write, but still dangerous under ntfs 5. "

The only "safe" write to NTFS from Linux has been chntpw, because it
involves a small set of writes to a specific file. NTFS has not been
publicly documented and I'm sure the folks at Sysinternals who wrote
NTFSPRO for DOS paid Microsoft a hefty fee for tapping into the NTFS
API. If you want to do NTFS writes outside of Windows for free, try
the PE Builder: http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/. This makes a disk that
is extremely close to the real Windows PE disc.
