I purchased the older (3rd edition) version of Mike Meyers A+ All-In-One
Certification Exam Guide for 9 bucks on ebay. What's the best way to ensure
I'm studying up-to-date material?

Go to the errata page on the Total Seminars website and correct the errors
in the Third Edition.

And then download the web chapter.
