Author will my exam guide still do ??

I took my A+ tests about a year ago, but only online on Skilldrill (and just
for me to know that I can do it), because my nearest approved test centre is
about an hours flight away :-P

Now I feel it might be worth doing the real thing, mainly because even
though I repaired computers throughout my neighbourhood folks still cannot
believe I am really good at it.
Probably too blonde.
With any problem they still prefer to call in the young bloke who returnes
the computer 'fixed' but with all the device drivers missing.
And when nothing else works they call me to sort the mess, but I know they'd
have rather had the young bloke sort it.

Anyway, I decided to take this whole thing of the hobby level and go for the
'real' A+ tests.

I've got Mike Myers Exam Guide Third Edition and a couple more books aiming
at the 2001 revision.
Do they still do? Or is there lots of new stuff on the tests?
Thanks,
Claudia

Hi Claudia,

I thought you had already taken the tests and passed :-P

The Mike Meyers third edition will do just fine...I took the Core exam in
September and the OS exam in November and passed both and there was nothing
new on either of the exams, but others that have taken them recently can
tell you if there is anything new, but I doubt there is.

Cheers,
Kathy

that version of the book may have more Win 3.1 than you need and maybe a
little less WIN2000, but the majority of it will still be fine.

Might want to consider getting the newest version of the A+ passport or Exam
Cram 2 just to make sure you get a briefing on at least some of the newer
test objectives.

I don't seem to remember Win 3.1 mentioned too often in the all-in-one Mike
Meyers third edition?

What I did also was I read the Microsoft Practical Windows 2000 Professional
book by Ed Bott.

Claudia-

The third edition is fine but PLEASE go to my website (www.totalsem.com) and
read the TECH FILES under the support section. It will help a lot.
