Barry

As far as Comptia are concerned for the test - they are all SVGA modes. In
fact as far as my graphics card & monitor maunfacturer are concerned they
are SVGA. Whether or not my feelings are on the subject I have to accept
the VESA description ... Short for Super VGA, a set of graphics standars
designed to offer greater resolution than VGA SVGA supports 800 x 600
resolution, or 480,000 pixels.

http://www.pcguide.com/ref/video/std.htm will explain it in a manner
equating to the computer industry.
