Author Certificate Delivery Times
Gareth

Hi Guys,

I took (and passed) both A+ exams, and the Network+ exam on the 27th August,
but I haven't received my certificate yet. After logging into the CompTIA
site, it says that my A+ and Network+ "kits" were dispatched on the 9th
September 2002.

How long should I wait for it, before I ask CompTIA to resend? (bearing in
mind, I live in the UK, so other Brit's recent delivery times might be
useful).

Also, what does the "kit" comprise of?

Cheers.

G.

I can't answer your question, but for International use I'd give it 30
days (although it should go by air and shouldn't take more than a week,
but if they sent it by boat it could take a month).

I took my tests (both of them) on Sept. 16th and my "kit" was mailed on
Sept. 23rd -- ONE WEEK. I'm hoping to get it tomorrow, if that is a
true mailing date. It's possible that the "mailing date" is bogus, that
it's not really a true "mailing date" at all (I define a true date as
the date when it's in the possession of the carrier, USPS or FedEx or
whoever).

I had a VERY difficult time finding the means to track this information,
and while it's on the CompTIA web site, I cannot find any link
whatsoever to get there from the home page. I got "backed into it" from
tracing the information on the test report.

And funnily enough, they arrived this morning

Bit disappointed that you "only" get a certificate (well, two) and an ID
card though, I was told a while ago that older A+ techs got the lapel pins
for free.

You can BUY the lapel pins. My certificate did NOT come today, which
leads me to believe that the "mail date" really isn't what WE would call
a mailing date.

I know, it's quite disappointing really. Well over $200; over here, it was
£394 ($615?) for both A+ exams and the Network+ exam.

As for buying the lapel pins, would I be right in assuming that the N+ lapel
pin is $20, and the only way to get the A+ lapel pin is by subscribing to
CompTIA's "IT Pro" scheme, which is $49 a year?
