Author is IRQ and memory address really asked?
Jeff Brady

I've been a HW tech for 5 years now, and downloaded some practice tests
for A+ just to see how much I know. The one thing that I hate is the number
of questions having to deal with IRQ assignments, conflicts, and hex memory
addresses.

Do questions regarding this stuff frequently appear on the tests? Thanks!

I suppose they would be fair game for the test but I had no questions
on any of these.

I didn't have any I/Os or IRQs, but I did get one beep code question and one
DMA channel question. I loved them, because they were the easiest questions
on the test!

I just took the Hardware Test today and after memorizing all the
IRQ's, DMA's and 12 I/O port addresses i got - 0 Questions on the
test about them. However, a classmate who took it yesterday did have
one asking the I/O address of COM2.

Paul

Oh yeah..... Passed with a 905.. yipee.
