CD-RW Drive problem..

| Hi folks,
Heres a problem I'm having with my CD-RW drive. I use Adaptec DirectCD 4x to
format my discs. The problem is, when I boot with a CD in the drive OR if I
insert a CD in the drive while the computer running, I get locked up.
I first thought it may be my DirectCD TSR that was causing the hangup but then
I took the CD out and booted it worked fine so, that eliminates that.
Also, I've tried a few different CDs.
Any suggestions?

Try the CD/RW in another system to see if it reads there. Try moving the
CD/RW to a different controller or cable. See if it reads in DOS using
mscdex. Reload DirectCD. Change the DMA status of the CD/RW in Device
Manager. Just a few suggestions.
