Author Modem Jumper Question

I got an old ISA Modem for a friends computer. Getting it to work is
really a good lesson in resource conflicts.

The Modem has jumpers. You can either set the jumpers to PnP or
Non-PnP. I tried setting to PnP and it didn't work. (It kind of
worked, just found an unknown device).

So, I switch the jumpers to the default (pictured in the install
guide). This sets it to com2, irq3.

On bootup it has a I/O conflict with 2F8.

I want to change the jumpers to a different COM port but I don't know
how. The manual offers no help. Just shows you what the default is.

Here is a diagram of the jumpers.

: = Off
I = On

PnP Jumpers Settings

SW1 1 2 3 4 5 6

: : : : : :

Non-PnP Default

SW1 1 2 3 4 5 6
: I I : : :

There is also JP1 and JP2. These are used to switch between PnP and
Legacy.

How do I set those jumpers to a different COM Port??

Thanks,
Bryan

What kind of modem is it? If you are not sure you can look it up using
the fcc id at:

http://www.fcc.gov/oet/fccid/

Or you could just disable COM2 in the bios.
