Hi all,
It goes to show you, I pass my A+ Core exam this morning and by this
afternoon I'm having troubles.
I just bought a DVD-R/RW drive, so it's the reason behind why I'm changing
my drives around.
My current configuration is as follows:
Hard Drive 1 (w/ XP boot) as primary master
Hard Drive 2 as primary slave
DVD-ROM as secondary master
CD-RW as secondary slave

So I called up ABIT and they said that I would have to move my hard
drive to IDE3 or 4 if I wanted to keep my 2 disc drives and add the DVD-R/RW
drive. I unplugged the Hard Drive ribbon cable and stuck it into the IDE3
slot. On boot up, I went into the HighPoint Bios (<CTRL>H) and checked to
make sure the drives show up... they do. And the correct one does show up as
the boot drive. So when I go into a full boot up into XP, I to the boot up
screen and I get the blue screen with the error number:
0x0000007B (0xf894C640, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

I swapped the ribbon cable back and forth a few times just to make sure,
but it always boots up normally when it's attached to either IDE1 or IDE2,
but always crashes on IDE3 (I haven't tried IDE4).

Anyone know what is causing this? Or how it can be fixed? I have a
feeling I'm going to have to reformat my hard drive.

Thanks all.
Bryan

Got it. Someone suggested that it was some RAID drivers that I needed to
install for my particular mobo. I installed the drivers from the disc that
came with my mobo and once I enabled the RAID (which is where the IDE3 & 4
connectors fell into) everything booted up nicely.
