| Are you just doing data transfer?
What OS are you going to use?
Are you trying to copy everything over so that apps work too? Or are you
going to re-install all the applications?
If you're going to re-install the OS and Apps this is what you can do...
Disable the 10Gig drive, take it off the primary connector and disconnect
the power, you don't have to remove it...
Insert the 40Gig drive, primary master preferably, format, install the OS.
Enable the 10Gig drive as secondary master (or whatever doesn't conflict
with the 40Gb primary master drive).
The 10Gb drive should show up as a second drive, then copy all the data
over.
If this is not your plan or option... I don't know why Ghost would fail.
I've done image copies several times and I only received problems trying to
make and image or copy a drive that's formatted with NTFS (I didn't know all
the switches)...

Assuming Windows here...
Install the OS on the new drive, boot from it, drag and drop
everything but the Windows folder from the old drive to the new one,
drag and drop the contents of the Windows folder to another new folder
(Windows.org, for example), boot to DOS, rename the new Windows folder
to something else, rename the old Windows folder to Windows, reinstall
the OS over itself. The last step may not be necessary.

| Geezer,
Is it possible that the new 40GB drive only has a 2GB partition? That might
explain the 25% limit. That's often the problem I see when we do images at
work and experience problems such as yours.
Another option is Power Quests "Drive Image Pro 2002" ($30 on eBay). It
works with all Windows OS's, including NTFS partitions. Plus, I've heard
that it's a lot easier to use than Ghost. All you need to do is point it to
the source and destination drives and your on your way.
Let us know how you work it out, and good luck!

| Maxtor also supplies (either with your new hard drive or obtainable at their
website) a good program thqat will set up the drive, and transfer your files
