| I have a Windows-me in my pc and i need to add a second operating system
(windows 2000 ) in it.
How-to do it using the same HD without reformating it?
The HD has lots of data and i don't want to loose them.
I need a step-by-step help!

Do you know how to use the DOS utility FDISK? If so you can create
another partition while in ME (I would get rid of ME altogether but
that's another thread). You're creating a logical drive (if you don't
already have one). Familiarize yourself with FDISK if you don't know
it. From there you simply pop in your media for the second O.S. It's
called a dual-boot. Try it out.

| Actually, it isn't recommended to change the system partition in any way, so
if there are not multiple partitions already created, the best and safest
bet is to reformat and create multiple partitions first, then load the two
different OS's onto two different partitions. Many people will create three
partitions, one for each OS and one for all data and apps. You will have to
install the apps twice (once under each OS) but it is simpler than having
two full copies of the programs installed on each OS partition.
