| I have a couple of questions. First I was installing some more ram on
my friends computer. I put two sticks of 128mb pc133 sdram on his
computer once I turn on the computer it will start to boot up, then
after a few seconds of booting up it will stop. my question is the
computer orginally had 64mb pc100 ram I put pc 133 in would that have
any problem with the computer booting up? If that does not have
anything to do with it does any one have any suggestion of what I
should do? any suggestions would be helpful.

| The use of PC133 in a system with PC100 will not cause it to lock up as you
can put RAM that is faster than the motherboard can support, you just do not
get the added advantage of the extra speed

| That is true in most cases, but some systems get particular and require that
all the ram be identical. Try removing the old ram and booting with only the
new ram in place. If the machine boots, this system may be one of those. If
it does not, then I would say that you may have some bad ram.

| Your friends computer does not accept high density RAM. JB.
