A friend of mine is having a problem with his HP Laptop (currently running
XP Home edition). It seems every time he boots it runs the chkdsk program.
I've searched the Microsoft knowledge base, but couldn't find any help
there. Once it is done scanning the HD everything works with no problems. I
can't seem to find any problems with it. If anyone has any suggestions I
would appreciate the help.

Hey Dave

I've seen that once before. From memory it was an error that had ckdsk
loaded to run at startup. I can't remember the fix but if you check
CONFIG.SYS AND BOOT.INI in C drive you can see if it is loaded there. I
seem to remember fixing it thru SYSEDIT but can't be sure.
