Please, I need help & clarification.

I've been reading Meyer's book that says you can "enable Desktop to load active
web pages directly. Why bother opening a browser..."

MY ISP is AOL. I tried to access Internet Explorer on my Windows2000 PC, but
(immediately) became hopelessly lost.

Could someone help me?

Thanks.

On the admittedly rare occasions that I have used a computer that connects
to AOL I have always been able to minimize the AOL screen and run IE instead
when I used the real internet.
Are you saying that you can't do this?
If you start IE just type www.yahoo.com or whatever URL you want into the
address bar and you are on the internet.
