Does that mean you only have to get 59.6% of the answers correct? It not,
what percentage is passing?

Adaptive exams don't go by percentages. Each question is assigned a point
value. The harder the question, the more points it is worth. The easier the
question, the fewer points it is worth. You are first asked a medium level
difficulty question. If you get that right, you are asked a harder one, if
not you get an easier one. Based on mathematical projection, there comes a
point in the exam where it is mathematically impossible for you to fail or
pass. When you get to that point, the exam ends. The actual number of
questions it takes to get to that point varies from person to person.

A few folks posting in this newsgroup report barely passing (and sometimes
barely failing) scores, right around 600. More typical are reports of scores
in the 800 to 950 range. My own score was 892 Core and 873 OS, and I tend to
think of that as perhaps analogous to a "B". I passed both exams in the
minimum of 20 questions.

I don't recall seeing anyone here posting a score of over 1000.

I see that you've scored higher on your core than your OS Tony. Before you studied and took the exam, would you consider your knowledge to be more hardware oriented? The reason why I'm asking is because while I'm studying from Meyer's and Groth's texts, I've discovered that I'm doing better on the OS sections. This leads me to believe that I'll do fine on the OS half of the cert.

My score was 1011 on the hardware and 653 on the software

Oddly enough, I scored 795 on both Core and OS. I've never met or heard from
anyone in the 1000 + score range either...

Core - 992
OS - 908

Both 20 questions. The 1000 barrier still holds. And you're supposed to be
able to get 1300.
