Hello everyone,
I'm having a problem trying to install SQL Server 2000.
Everytime I try to install, it returns a message saying, a
previous program has pending files.....You must restart
your computer. I've done that and still the same thing.
I also have checked the knowledge base, and they say there
is a registry key under ControlSet that has a key
PendingFileRename that must be deleted. But, I looked on
my server and that key is not there. Anybody have any
idea on how to make this work?

Try HKEY_LOCALMACHINE
SYSTEM
CURRENT CONTROL SET
CONTROL
SESSION MANAGER
Once you are at that key, the right hand pane should list any PendingFileRename. Delete that.

Good luck.
