Author High Memory Usage on SQL Server machine

Hello All,
I've got a server running SQL Server 2000 standard edition
with 3 separate databases, all with merge replication to
another server. The machine is Dell server with dual xeon
1.5Ghz processors on a quad processor board, 4Gb of Ram, 2
18Gb drives on Raid 1 and 3 73Gb drives on Raid 5. The
processor usage is typically 10% with peaks around 30% on
average. We just added a new file management database that
is over 13Gb in size with is completely replicated with 4
separate merge agents. The other 2 databases are around a
total of 6Gb in size.

Now the problem is the memory usage is showing around
5.2Gb including Windows 2000 Server's "virtual memory".
But, if you view the task manager the total processes
memory usage is only about 2Gb.

Any ideas? Thanks for any help in advance.

This behavior is by design.
